RESOURCES
Resource sharing is essential–and a pleasure, too. Many women's and community organizations work on closely related issues yet rarely work together. To prevent hazardous conditions or events from becoming disasters, we must work together.
We hope you and members of your organization or group will make the effort to record women's disaster histories. Share your experiences before, during and after disasters and challenge received wisdom. We will also soon be linking to women's blogs, newsletters, journals and ways we communicate.
Many training resources on gender mainstreaming in disaster reduction work are available and you can access them here. To help promote awareness of gender as a factor in women's and men's disaster experience, we also share teaching materials.
Please send us additional resources via email to usgdra@gmail.com or be in touch about how we may link to these. We are especially interested in resources for building women's resilience to hazards and disasters here in the United States.
